Lay Associates

Lay Associate is : Any person who lives his/her baptismal consecration to Christ to the fullest is invited to join the congregation as an associate to participate in its charism and the spirituality without being bound by vows. You can join as an associate in the journey of faith in the south East province of the sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny so as to create an ambience of mutual bond by prayer and service. Through spiritual collaboration we strive to identify, nourish and uphold one another’s vocation in life.
Who can become an associate in St. Joseph of Cluny?

  •  Any baptised person over 18 years of age who wishes to live his/her catholic faith in a more specific way following the life and teachings of Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey.
  •  Any person who is a dependent individual lives with the parents of the spouse need to have informed consent from the parents or the spouse to become part of the Cluny associate.
  • The person should be mature and equipped with socialization skills.
  • There is no financial obligation of any kind on the part of the associate or the congregation.

How a person is become an associate?
Generally by expressed will by the lay catholic eligible individual or by the invitation of a Cluny sister. The formation period is one year- spend on prayer in groups, study of scripture, study of the life and mission of Blessed Anne Marie Javouhey, and charism and spirituality of the congregation.
